Prince Luca$

About

Nigerian-American. Raised in New York. Afrofusion is the only language he's ever fully spoken.

Raised in New York by Nigerian parents, Prince Lucas grew up translating — Yoruba at home, English at school, Afrobeats on his mother's speakers, hip-hop and R&B in the streets outside. Afrofusion isn't a genre he chose. It's the only language he's ever fully spoken.

That duality shows up in every part of the music: the melodic pocket and rhythm of Lagos, the storytelling and emotional directness of New York hip-hop and R&B, the confidence of dancehall phrasing.

Before The Love Party was the first full statement of that sound — culminating in a sold-out, 400-ticket night at SOB's in New York City, without the infrastructure that usually makes a night like that possible. Since then, he's shared stages with Rema and Adekunle Gold, crossed 500,000 total streams, and released Chatter — the first single from the next era.

This is the next era: the infrastructure finally matching the talent.
